Help Send Rusty to Cook at Camp Sunshine

Rusty was selected as one of ten chefs to particpate in the 2013 CulinaryCorps Service Trip to Camp Sunshine in Casco, Maine! For one week, this coming August, he will be volunteering his skills as a cook and culinary educator during the camp's oncology session.
About the Camp: Camp Sunshine supports children with life threatening illnesses and their families. The camp has the distinction of being the only program in the nation whose mission is to address the impact of a life-threatening illness on every member of the immediate family- the ill child, parents, and siblings.
The mission of this trip: The mission of the trip is to enhance the camp's daily programming with cooking classes geared for campers of all ages including parents. Each class will be designed to teach culinary basics as well as healthy alternatives to unhealthy foods. And as always, they will be aiming for every class to be a lot of fun.
What Rusty will be doing: Rusty will be involved in teaching daily hands-on cooking classes for campers and their parents with a "Chefs in Training" theme. The children and parents will learn such things as knife skills, sauteing, palate expansion, grilling, pasta-making and healthy desserts. Rusty will also be involved in organizing a family-oriented Foodie Olympics (game), and a Camp Sunshine Iron Chef competition. There are many other activities scheduled including the chefs preparing an intimate date party for the parents.
HE NEEDS YOUR HELP TO MAKE THIS TRIP HAPPEN! Rusty needs to raise $2000 to cover the following expenses:
*participation fees (which cover such things as cooking supplies, food, training, lodging and meals)
*round-trip transportation
*miscellaneous expenses
**Any amount raised over the $2000 goal will go directly to Camp Sunshine.
***ALL DONORS of ANY AMOUNT will receive a personal thank you note from Rusty and a copy of a recipe that was used to teach kids at Camp Sunshine.
****Fundraising will end on August 9, 2013.
