<div>Zachary and Lexi were in the middle of moving to North Dakota, excited to start a new chapter, when their world changed in an instant. Lexi, just 25 weeks pregnant with twins, suddenly went into labor on the road. In the middle of a snowstorm, Zachary had to deliver their son on the side of the highway, surrounded by three feet of snow. Their daughter was born a few hours later at the hospital via emergency c-section. Both babies, Zaylee and Zachariah, arrived far too soon and are now fighting for their lives as micro preemies in the NICU at Sanford Hospital, each weighing just over a pound.

<div>The twins require round-the-clock specialist care, and Zachary and Lexi are doing everything they can to be by their side every moment. They’ve had to rent a small place near the hospital and are searching for something more permanent, but their savings—meant to cover just a short trip and the first couple of weeks in North Dakota—have quickly run out. The unexpected early arrival of the twins has turned their plans upside down, and now they’re struggling to meet even their most basic needs while spending every day in the NICU.
