Bike Across US for Pathway Project

My friend, her daughter, and I are avid bicyclists. We are planning a trip to ride our bicycles across the United States this summer to bring awareness to a healthy lifestyle and raise money for our local pathway project.  We will be riding about 60 - 70 days going from Astoria, Oregon to Washington D. C.  
Linda and I are a part of a committee to bring a safe way to travel for students, visitors, and residents around the village of Shabbona, Illinois.  We have Shabbona Lake State Park, Shabbona Forest Preserve, Indian Creek Schools, Indian Oaks Golf Course, and two subdivisions that we would like to connect via a 3-mile multi-use trail system.  We want to raise money to expedite this project.  Some of the money we raise will go towards the cost of our bike trip, but most of it will go towards the materials needed to build the project.  We plan on camping and being as frugal as we can as we travel.  We will be leaving the first part of June and arriving at our destination, mid August.  Back a few years ago, we started riding across various states and had discussed going across the US.  This year seemed like the perfect year to do it and incorporate our love of cycling and trying to make an impact on our local project.  We would really appreciate any contributions to this effort.  The pathway project has received a couple of small grants, but it is a drop in the bucket for completing the trail that the committee hopes to build.  If you are interested in knowing more about our project, the link to the website is: http://www.shabbonapathway.com/ .
