Help Trace Live His Hollywood Dream!

Donation protected
Please help me send my son, Trace, to Hollywood! Trace has wanted to be a director since he was 4 years old and knows that a good first step is to be in front of the camera. Now that dream is becoming a reality! Trace has been chosen to be part of a brand new television series showcasing young actors from their beginnings to their various successes in the industry! He will travel to LA and Orlando to do some filming there and will also be filmed here at home!
In addition to the excitement of being chosen for the show, we have also just learned that Trace is the only Canadian chosen. He will be representing the entire country and all of its young talent!
The production team feels that not only will the show help Trace gain international exposure, Trace's story will also inspire other young people to follow their dreams no matter what circumstances they may face.
For those of you who don't know Trace's story, please let me share it with you here. Trace lost his dad to cancer shortly before he turned 4 and, although he was young, he remembers a great deal about the experience. He has had to learn ways to overcome tragedy and emotions that no child should have to face. When Trace was 4 he was diagnosed with a speach delay and required 2 years of speach therapy. By the end of the first year of therapy he had gone from not being understood by anyone to being able to have full conversations with everyone he met. Then, after 4 great years of school, Trace moved to a new school and everything went south. From grade 4 to grade 6 he struggled both academically and socially. He became increasingly bored and frustrated with school work and his grades declined rapidly. To add to his frustration, he was not accepted by the other students and was bullied severely. It got to the point that Trace did not want to go to school at all. Near the end of grade 6 Trace was diagnosed with Aspergers Syndrome (an Autism Spectrum Disorder), a learning disability, and above average intellegance. We found a new school which specializes in teaching kids in the way they learn best and at their speed, and gives them the tools they need to deal with their various challenges. Trace has just finished grade 8 and is on the honour role in every subject. He is one of the most popular kids in his school and he loves going!
No matter what obstacles Trace has faced, he has always found ways to overcome them and learn from them. He has always maintained his amazing sense of humour and has grown into an extremely empathetic and compasionate young man. He has never waivered from his desire to be a director and remains passionate about his dream. Trace is excited to be a part of this show not only for himself but to hopefully encourage at least one other person to follow their dreams no matter what they face in life.
As this is a brand new series it is a shared cost production meaning each family and the prodution team share the cost to make the show. Trace's production fee total is $72,000.00 USD. This cost includes production expenses, flights, travel and hotel while in LA and Orlando, food while in production, and travel expenses for film crews to come here.
We have already paid $3000.00 and have raised another $1000.00 through yard sales and bottle drives! We can make payments but the total has to be paid relatively quickly.
We are continuing to do bottle drives and Trace will be doing odd jobs for anyone who needs him, but we need your help as well to make his dream a reality. Please help us to raise $37,000.00 CAD by October 2013 and $37,000.00 CAD by March 2014. This will cover all of the prodution costs as well as exchange and any incidentals we may have while away.
We know things are tough for a lot of people but if we all pull together as a community we can make this happen for Trace. We are asking anyone who can, to donate whatever they can and for everyone to pass our story on to their freinds and family in order to reach as many people as possible.
Trace and I appreciate all of the help and support we have received and continue to receive and we would like to thank you in advance for your generosity and help!
Sincerely Yours,
Brenda and Trace Funk
