Facing the Unexpected

What Happened?

Michael Morin is a carpenter by trade and a licensed sub-contractor.  He works for a well-respected company in the Baltimore area and has held his current position for three years. We have been married for 12 years and we have two children, Wolf who is 11 and Clementine who is 6.  He's one of the hardest working husbands and fathers that I know and his work is excellent quality because he puts forth 100 percent effort in everything he does!
When my husband went to work on Wednesday March 28, 2018 he started to have sever chest, jaw, and neck pain. He felt dizzy, weak and lightheaded. Not like himself at all! He called me at work and let me know that he was not well. When my husband says that he is not feeling well, I know something is definitely wrong! I left my own job and picked him up and drove him to John's Hopkins's Hospital in Baltimore.  A series of tests confirmed that he had a SCAD Heart Attack. SCAD stands for Sudden Coronary Artery Dissection. It means that there is a tear in his coronary artery. This was quite surprising news considering my husband is an avid athlete. He eats healthy most of the time and drinks tons of water, and does not drink alcohol.  He had no prior health issues whatsoever. Not to mention he is only 33 years old!

I learned that this particular type of heart attack tends to effect younger, healthier people, and is quite rare.  Michael spent 2 days in the ICU before he was moved to the Post Progressive Care Unit and eventually discharged from the hospital. He had to miss a full week of work before he was able to ease back into doing his job. Even now we are still testing the waters as he is still experiencing chest pains and extreme exhaustion and he has to be extremely careful!  He will have to follow up with many tests and trips to the cardiologist and has to take medicine daily, possibly for the rest of his life.

Reducing Stress is Key!

One of the biggest factors in causing this heart attack has been continual stress. Our family has faced many obstacles over the years. Those of you who know us personally are fully aware of how much our family has been through and how strong my husband has been through all of it.  In the months and weeks leading up to this event  Michael had been working diligently to pay bills, take care of emergencies as they arose, and pay off some prior debts.  He had picked up extra jobs over the weekends and worked late into the evenings.   We had also helped several family members move within just the last few months and he was there to help all of them.  My husband genuinely cares about serving others and will do so even at his own expense. The weight of it all eventually took a toll on my husband's body.

How You Can Help Us.

As you can very well imagine, this entire situation has been very difficult for my children and I. My husband has always been an excellent provider but right now  he absolutely needs to rest because his life depends on it! I am humbly coming before all of our friends and family, as well as anyone who may be led, to help ease the financial burden that has been put on my family due to my husbands heart attack so that he may be able to recover without worry or fear of the future.  He is devastated that he cannot work like he always has and I sincerely believe that asking for help is the best thing that I can do for him right now.
Even a $5 gift will help us reach our goal! if you can't give, please share our story and most of all pray! We genuinely value your prayers. Thank you so much for your time and consideration!
