Charlotte's Journey

My name is Elysia and I'm one of Charlotte Wiks' daughters in law. On July 24th, 2024, Charlotte had gone into the emergency room in Moose Jaw due to severe stomach pains. She had been given pain medication and a CT scan, and a referral to a surgeon for follow-up. Shortly that same night Charlotte decided to go back to the hospital as the pain had returned worse than before. They decided then to do repeat CT scan, and a colonoscopy the following day.

On the 27th of July, the doctor that performed the scans and colonoscopy had confirmed that he had found colon cancer, as well as noting a nodule on her lung.

She will begin chemotherapy within the coming weeks.

Charlotte is a mother of 4, and a devoted grandmother of 8. She has cared for mine (and her son's) children while we worked for the past 7 years and is loved very much.

Charlotte during this time will be unable to work, unable to look for work, and unfortunately life's expenses don't stop when we are in terrible situations.

This fundraiser is in hopes that we can give her a bit of peace of mind so that she can focus on rest and recovery. The funds will go directly to Charlotte for anything related to her recovery and journey, outside of medical care, as she was on a limited income before becoming sick.
