Surgery for Luna

Luna is the sweetest, most loving, playful furball of all time. She and her sister, Onyx, were rescued as kittens from the bushes. We gifted Luna and her sister to my mom as a Mother's Day present as she had recently suffered the loss of one of our longtime family cats.

Over the past 15 months Luna has filled our family's lives with so much joy and stolen the hearts of everyone she's crossed paths with. A cat full of character and so much love and charm, she only turned 1 this year and has so many years left in her.

Luna was diagnosed  with a UTI a few weeks ago, but still seemed like her spunky, snuggly self playing with her four-legged siblings. When she went back for her checkup the vet discovered she had developed kidney stones which ultimately led to her going into acute kidney failure. Her kidney failure is now requiring her to undergo emergency surgery.  The procedure is absolutely necessary in order for sweet Luna to survive.

My mom has grown up an animal lover and has rescued, cared for, and re-homed countless cats, dogs, and even turtles over the years. She is an elementary school teacher of 25+ years who is constantly volunteering in her community, devoting her time to causes, and giving back to charities. She is not one to ever ask for help, but It has come to the time where we need to ask for your assistance to save our dear Luna. 

All of these expenses come out of pocket- which due to COVID-19 isn’t ideal. The financial strain of her medical expenses comes second to the emotional strain we are currently experiencing with the thought of losing Luna.
