A Christmas Wish & Mothers Prayer

On May 5th 2018 Cassie gave birth to Ava Rose Sullins by scheduled C-section. Everything was pre- planned and well prepared for good doctors at an excellent hospital including having her rare blood type hand just in case. However, things don’t always go as planned, such as her uterus not contracting after birth resulting in her losing blood faster than they could get it to her forcing the surgeon to an emergency complete hysterectomy. While Ava is a perfectly healthy, 6.12 lbs beautiful baby girl, her mother was in the fight of her life. After surgery and a stay in intensive care on life support to the surprise of her doctors she woke up and began to breathe on her own in just under 24 hours.
After going to her regular room to be with Ava she complained of pain in her lower back. The nurses and doctors all said it was normal, probably gas. On the forth day the doctor put his hand on her lower back and she burst into tears. They rushed her to radiology to determine what was going on. They found that during the hysterectomy, the surgeon accidentally stitched the ureter on her left kidney shut causing the kidney to nearly fail. They had to place a plastic tube from her kidney coming out her back to relieve the pressure on her kidney and keep it from bursting. For the next 6 months urine was eliminated from her body through that tube involuntarily. After six months and several other complications and

surgeries, all of which were extremely painful they finally restored 80% of normal kidney function and were able to remove the tube from her back and place a  stent in place. During all of this time she wasn’t able to lift over 5 lbs. let alone able to work. Meanwhile, the bills never stopped coming, rent, utilities, car payments, insurance, groceries, school clothes and supplies, for her two boys ages 8 and 9, transportation expenses, etc. All of this has put her in debt that she has been unable to recover from to this day. Her car was repossessed due to title loans she had to take out and she’s now having to movie. She is in desperate need of money for new apartment and transportation.
And now, here we are, three weeks to Christmas and her situation looks bleak. She doesn’t know if she and her kids, who are the most important thing to her will even have a home for Christmas, let alone a tree and presents for the kids, who have made their Santa wish lists, as all young children do, and this absolutely breaks my heart. So I’m making this GoFundMe page for my sister, I don’t like seeing her and her family go threw this. She has always helped people unselfishly....ALWAYS. She is probably going to feel embarrassed because I am making this for her, but this is her last option - and a desperate one at that. She’s never denied help to anyone - if a homeless person or anybody asked for food, money, clothes she would give it if she had it. She has donated money & clothes & her kids old clothes & items to single moms and domestic abuse shelters...she has always had a giving heart and never hesitated to give freely. She’s loaned money to people who have refused to pay her back, but She still try’s to keep her heart good so that She can still help others when she back on my feet. She didnt ask for her life to be so difficult. YES, she has made some bad choice, But who hasn’t? She has learned the hard way which most of us have. She is trying her hardest to do what she needs, & is still trying. She is the mother that will NEVER give up, no matter how hard it is.
She has never received child support although many attempts have been made. Until now, through all of the challenges she has faced, such as her mother unexpectedly passing when she was 20, serious medical complications with two of her children’s birth and I can’t imagine how it must feel to try to find the words to explain to your young children that they may not have a home for Christmas and therefore Santa Claus may not be able to find them. She has managed to keep her chin up and her kids healthy and happy.
If anyone could use a Santa or Christmas miracle its this very deserving family. Please help me help them. Anything will help. If you’re not in a position to contribute financially or donate a car, Please Send Prayers and PLEASE SHARE.
thank you
