Studying abroad: Keeping my dream alive
Hello everyone! My name is Valentina and I'm currently an architecture student in Portugal.
I'm from Chile, in South America, and since I was little I always dream about study abroad. I came from a humble family where we are my parents and 3 sisters (yes, I know, my dad is probably going nuts) so we don't have a lot of money left, but it was always enough to cover the priorities (I'm really grateful to God for that).
I always knew that in my parent's economical condition, studying abroad was impossible. That is why when I finished High School I started to work. I worked for a year and a half, trying to save the majority of my salary for studies and woke up everyday with the university as a target, and finally I saved enough to pay the first year.
My work also allowed me to pay for the fly to Portugal and for the lease of the first year... But the first year is coming to the end and the money too.
I'm starting an online shop of handmade painted things and currently looking for a job for my holidays, but it is a little difficult now.
I am IN LOVE with my course (Architecture) but sadly the materials are a little - too- expensive. I know that if I work really hard I can pay the lease and the living costs, but the tuition is another thing.
I don't want my parents getting in debts because of me, because I'm not an only child, everything that I do is going to affect my sisters. But I don't want to get back to my country either, especially because there no one appreciate my course and is really difficult to get a job after you finish.
I'm working really hard in order to get an scholarship, but for different motives, I only can get one for my third year of university, so my second year is the problem.
Everything , and I really mean everything, is a BIG help, and I'm going to be really grateful to you even if you help with 10 cents. I promise that all the money is in order to cover the tuition and is not going to be waste. And if you can't help me with money but have some advice please be my guest :)
Thank you so much for help me to keep dreaming awake <3
P.S: Sorry if there was any spelling error. I basically learnt English with Netflix and Apps
