Melissa Lowry's Medical Fund

Melissa Lowry, a 2013 graduate of Rock Springs High School,  was born in Rock Springs, Wyoming on January 31, 1995.  Melissa, age 22,  was recently diagnosed with Malignant Spindle Sarcoma Round Cell Rhabdomyoblastic Differentiation.  The Spindle Cell Sarcoma is a quite rare form of cancer. Melissa has worked at Santa Fe Trail Restaurant since high school and also works at the golf course.  She will be unable to work for quite a while due to her upcoming treatments. Melissa has 5 weeks of radiation, 2 weeks of carry over radiation,  and then she will have surgery to remove the tumor with 6 weeks of recuperation and then more radiation and Chemo if needed.  

Melissa is the daughter of Terry and Debbie Lowry of Rock Springs.  For the past 11 years, the Lowrys have been foster parents and given to so many children in our community.  Melissa has a beautiful heart and has always helped her parents with any foster or adopted children brought into their home.  Debbie will be accompanying Melissa to the Huntsman Cancer Center in Salt Lake City, Utah to support their daughter through the tough weeks ahead, while Terry will stay home to take care of their other children and continue to work, and then travel to Salt Lake City on his days off to be with Melissa.  

The funds collected will help the family with their out-of-pocket medical costs and the cost of travel.  Anything above the $5,000.00 will be used to help pay for Melissa's car payment and to help pay her rent so she doesn't lose her car and home while fighting this disease.  If you can help us support this wonderful family in any amount possible, please do so.  I have never met a more deserving family, and we are trying to help them through this tough time by alleviating some of their financial stress so they can concentrate on helping Melissa get well.  Thank you in advance for your generosity.
