Mädchen ohne Hand geboren
Die 7-jährige Britney ist ohne linke Hand zur Welt gekommen. Ihre Familie gehört zur ärmsten Bevölkerungsschicht Perus und ihre Eltern hatten kein Geld, für ihre Tochter eine Prothese zu kaufen und Britney damit ein besseres Leben zu ermöglichen. Dann hörte die Familie vom Diospi Suyana, einem Spitalhilfswerk in den peruanischen Anden. Dort wird unabhängig von Herkunft und gesellschaftlichem Status geholfen!
Prothese konnte nicht hergestellt werden
Leider ist die Mechanik einer Handprothese zu kompliziert, als dass sie in der einfachen Werkstatt des Spitals hergestellt werden kann. So konnte Britney vorerst nicht behandelt werden.
Hilfe durch Zufall
Meine Frau Simonne und ich (Patrik) sind auf unserer Hochzeitsreise per Zufall auf das Spital gestossen. Wie den Patienten geholfen wird, hat uns tief berührt! Um möglichst vielen Patienten zu helfen, erhalten alle ausländischen Mitarbeiter vom Diospi Suyana keinen Lohn, keine Wohnung und kein Essen. Sie leben ausschliesslich von ihrem Erspartem und von Spenden!

Ich bin Ingenieur und als ich vom Schicksal der kleinen Britney erfuhr, druckte ich an meinem Arbeitsort in der Schweiz mit einem 3D-Drucker eine Handprothese aus und schickte sie nach Peru. Dort wurde sie zusammengebaut und seither hat Britney zwei Hände. Zurzeit lernt sie im Spital, wie man mit der Prothese umgeht.
Wir wollen helfen
Britney konnten wir helfen, aber es gibt hunderte von Schicksalen wie jenes von Britney. Deshalb haben wir uns entschieden, für mindestens 3 Jahre nach Peru zu ziehen und dort ohne Gehalt mitzuarbeiten, Simonne als Ärztin und ich in der Herstellung von Prothesen.
Wir werden bereits von unseren Familien und unseren Freunden finanziell unterstützt, aber für unseren Lebensunterhalt, Versicherungen, den Aufbau einer Prothesenwerkstatt etc. benötigen viel mehr Geld, als wir haben.

A girl born with only one hand
The seven year old Britney was born with her left hand only. Her family belongs to the poorest of the poor in Peru and although a prosthetic hand would give her a new lease of live, her parents were unable to provide one for Britney. One day the family heard of Diospi Suyana, a hospital & medical project in the Peruvian Andes. Dospi Suyana provides medical health care no matter what origin or social status their patients have.
Unable to build the prosthetic hand
Unfortunately, to engineer a prosthetic hand is quite complex and cannot be produced within the hospital’s workshop. So, Britney couldn’t be treated straight away.
Help out of the blue
My wife and I (Patrik) were on our honeymoon, when we randomly happened upon this hospital. How the patients were helped, deeply touched the both of us. To help as many people as possible, foreign employees of Diospi Suyana do not receive salary, housing or food. They live exclusively off their savings and donations.
I am an engineer and as I heard of little Britney’s fate, I printed a prosthetic hand with a 3D-printer at my workplace in Switzerland and sent it to Peru. There they put it together and since then, Britney has two hands. She’s currently learning how to use her new hand at the hospital.

We want to help
We were able to help Britney, but there are hundreds of people with similar fates like Britney’s. This is why we decided to move to Peru for at least three years and work as volunteers at Diospi Suyana. Simonne, who is a doctor will practice her craft, and I, as an engineer, will produce prosthetic limbs.
Our family and friends are already supporting us financially, but our livelihood, insurances and the start-up of a prothesis studio needs a lot more money than we have.

PRÓTESIS-3D PARA GENTE DE ESCASOS RECURSOS EN PERÚ
Una pequeña que nació con un solo brazo
Britney, una pequeña niña que desafortunadamente llegó al mundo sin el brazo izquierdo. Su familia proviene del sector poblacional más pobre de Perú y sus padres no cuentan con los recursos económicos necesarios para poder solventar una prótesis y con ello darle una mejor calidad de vida. Fue entonces cuando la Familia se enteró de Diospi Suyana, una organización que brinda ayuda hospitalaria. Un lugar que brinda ayuda a la gente independientemente de su origen o estatus social.
La prótesis no pude ser fabricada
Desafortunadamente, la elaboración de una prótesis para su mano era demasiado complicada para ser fabricada en un simple taller de hospital. Por lo tanto Britney no puedo ser tratada en ese momento.
Ayuda por casualidad
Mi esposa y yo (Patrik) encontramos el hospital por casualidad durante nuestra luna de miel y nos conmovió profundamente la ayuda que se les da a los pacientes y es por eso que buscamos un apoyo y posiblemente ayudar a mucha más gente, en Diospi Suyana los trabajadores extranjeros no reciben un salario, vivienda ni comida, ellos viven exclusivamente de sus ahorros y de donaciones.

Soy ingeniero de profesión y en el momento en que me enteré del caso de Britney a mi regreso imprimí una prótesis para su mano con una impresora 3D en mi lugar de trabajo (Suiza) y la envié a Perú. Una vez que todos los componentes estaban en Perú, se armó y desde entonces Britney cuenta con su extremidad. Actualmente, ella aprende en el hospital a como utilizar su prótesis.
Nosotros queremos ayudar
Nosotros queremos ayudar a Britney, pero hay cientos de casos similares como el de Britany. Por lo cual decidimos mudarnos a Perú por al menos 3 años y trabajar allí como voluntarios, Simonne como médico y yo en la fabricación de prótesis. Por el momento estamos recibiendo apoyo financiero de nuestras familias, amigos para alcanzar nuestro objetivo, pero para nuestro sustento, seguro, establecimiento de un taller de prótesis, etc., necesitamos mucho más dinero con el cual poder contar.

Bambina nata senza una mano
Britney, di 7 anni, è venuta al mondo senza la mano sinistra. La sua famiglia appartiene alla fascia della popolazione più povera del Perù e i suoi genitori non avevano soldi per comprare una protesi per la figlia e permettere così a Britney una vita migliore. Poi la famiglia ha sentito di Diospi Suyana, un'opera di soccorso ospedaliera, nelle Ande peruviane. Là viene aiutata indipendentemente dalla provenienza e dallo status sociale!
Non si è potuto fabbricare la protesi
Purtroppo la meccanica di una protesi di mano è troppo complicata perché la si possa fabbricare nel semplice laboratorio dell'ospedale. Quindi inizialmente non si è potuta curare Britney.
Aiuto per caso
Mia moglie Simonne ed io (Patrik) siamo incappati per caso nell'ospedale durante il nostro viaggio di nozze. Ci ha molto toccato come il paziente viene aiutato! Per poter aiutare il maggior numero di pazienti, tutti i collaboratori stranieri di Diospi Suyana non ricevono stipendio, vitto né alloggio. Vivono esclusivamente dei loro risparmi e donazioni!

Io sono ingegnere e, quando ho saputo della piccola Britney, ho stampato una protesi di mano sul mio luogo di lavoro in Svizzera con una stampante 3D e l'ho mandata in Perù. Là è stata montata e da allora Britney ha due mani. Intanto sta imparando in ospedale a usare la protesi.
Vogliamo aiutare
Abbiamo potuto aiutare Britney, ma ci sono centinaia di destini come quello di Britney. Per questo abbiamo deciso di andare a vivere in Perù per circa 3 anni e lavorare laggiù senza retribuzione, Simonne come medico e io nella produzione delle protesi.
Siamo già sostenuti finanziariamente dalle nostre famiglie e dai nostri amici, ma per la nostra sussistenza, le nostre assicurazioni, la costruzione del laboratorio per le protesi, ecc. abbiamo bisogno di molto più denaro di quello che abbiamo.

La jeune Britney (7ans) est venue au monde sans main gauche. Sa famille fait partie de la couche sociale la plus pauvre du Pérou et ses parents n’ont pas les moyens nécessaires pour acheter une prothèse qui permettrait à Britney de vivre une vie plus épanouie.
Cependant ils ont entendu parler du « Diospi Suyana » une organisation d’aide médical dans les Andes péruviennes qui aide sans tenir compte du statut social.
La prothèse n’a pas pu être réalisée
La mécanique d’une prothèse de main étant assez compliquée, l’équipement basique de l’atelier hospitalier ne permettait pas de fabriquer une telle prothèse. Britney ne pouvait donc pas être aidée.
Aide par hasard
Lors de notre voyage de noces, ma femme Simonne et moi (Patrik) avons par hasard découvert cet hôpital. Nous avons été impressionnés et touchés par la façon dont les patients sont aidés là-bas.
Afin de pouvoir venir en aide au plus de patients possibles, les collaborateurs de Diospi Suyana ne sont ni nourris, ni logés, ni rémunérés. Ils vivent uniquement de leurs économies et de dons.

Quand j’ai appris le sort de Britney et étant moi-même ingénieur, j’ai fabriqué à mon travail une prothèse main à l’aide d’une imprimante 3D et je l’ai envoyée au Pérou. Là-bas, la prothèse a été assemblée et depuis, Britney découvre la vie à deux mains. En ce moment, elle apprend dans cet hôpital à s’en servir correctement.
Nous voulons aider
Nous avons pu aider Britney, mais il y a des centaines d’autres personnes qui partagent le même sort. C’est ainsi que nous avons décidé d’aller travailler bénévolement au Pérou et ceci pour une période d’au moins 3 ans. Simonne en tant que médecin et moi comme ingénieur dans la fabrication de prothèses.
Nos familles et nos amies nous soutiennent financièrement mais ce n’est pas suffisant pour garantir notre séjour ainsi que l’installation d’un atelier de prothèses. Nous avons besoin d’un soutien financier plus important.
