Butterfly Boy Needs A New Bathtub

This is a fundraiser to help with the costs of purchasing and installing a new microsilk bathtub and possible room addition for Brody Curtis.
Brody was born on May 24, 2011 missing skin on his extremities. He was diagnosed with a severe and life threatening skin condition called Recessive Dystrophic Epidermolysis Bullosa, or just EB for short. Brody is missing the collagen 7 protein in his body that helps hold his layers of skin together. Without this protein, the slightest amount of friction against his skin will cause it to blister or come off altogether.
He is wrapped in bandages from the neck down. These bandages help protect what good skin he has from developing blisters or wounds, and also helps the wounds he has from developing infections. About 80% of Brody's body is covered with open wounds comparable to 3rd degree burns.
On top of the everyday pain he must endure, 3 times a week he must go through excruciatingly painful baths and bandage changes. The baths are especially painful. Vinegar and bleach are put into his bath to help fight off infections and just getting wet is torture. They are so painful he can't even be unwrapped for baths (please see the bath video on this campaign under the updates tab). With this new microsilk bathtub, it will eliminate the need to use vinegar and bleach as much as we do now, and we may not have to use them at all. The microsilk tub uses oxygen bubbles to help cleanse the body which will help tremendously with the debreedment of his wounds. Overall, this new bathtub will be much less painful on Brody and will also get him a lot cleaner than I can get him right now. A few other EB families have used this new tub and have seen great improvement in their child's EB skin.
With your help, I can hopefully make this new bathtub a reality for Brody. If more than enough is raised, I'm hoping to put it towards building an addition onto Brody's bedroom for a new bath/bandage room so his bedroom can be a bedroom. Right now his bedroom is full of his bandage supplies and all of his toys are in the living room.
