Stop this Eviction

Hello, I’m Koryn and I’m hoping you can help me stop this eviction.

Im going to try to keep this short.

In April of 2022 I got into a car accident that totaled my car. Luckily I was ok and had insurance along with some savings and credit cards so I was able to get a different car fairly quickly. Unfortunately though, that completely drained me financially. I’ve spent the past year trying to get ahead again to no avail. I’ve spent 2 years looking for more affordable housing to no avail. Every year my rent goes up by $100 and I have not been able to afford that since 2021.

So far this year, 2023, I’ve been battling health problems as well. Several emergency room visits, doctors appointments, tests and scans, that have continued to drain me financially to the point of having no choice but to take on medical debt of over $15,000. In the midst of all the emergency and doctors visits I caught Covid which put me out of work for 2 weeks. In an already fragile financial situation, that sent me over the edge.

For 2 months I’ve been able to maintain all of my other bills; the gas, electric, insurance, car payment, credit cards (which I maxed out after I crashed my car), phone, and groceries. Unfortunately it’s my rent payment that I can’t afford at the moment. I’ve fallen behind and they’ve gone forward with filing for eviction. I have until May 30th to pay 3 months rent to avoid being evicted. I’ve applied for state assistance but was denied so a friend recommended I try this. $3000 is being raised to pay for my past due rent and the rent that’ll be due on June 1st. The other remaining $2000 I’m trying to raise to pay for July and August. By the end of August I hope to be stable financially and to find more affordable housing.
