'Am I Still Human' / Art Exhibition

Donation protected

There has been an increasing interest in the human/non-human dichotomy over the past decade. With the emergence of data-based conscious technology (A.I) and the growing digitalisation of the world, our perception of what it means to “be human” is constantly challenged. Facing the collapse of what was previously an affirmed idea of what it meant to be a human being, we are now being faced with the question:

“Can a human be a human without a body?”

This question inevitably leads to other questions like; does the idea of ‘being human’ still constrain us to exist solely in the one dimension in which our physical body was born? Has technology created a way for a multiplicity of dimensions and ‘bodies’ in which it is possible to ‘be human’ in? How can we examine these new frontiers of our humanity?

With this project, we wish to explore a multiplicity of dimensions in which a human can exist. We wish to explore how the human body and mind through technology can be seen as liberated from previous academic and scientific formalities. We wish to explore how the human body and mind can now be seen as fluid entities that can fluctuate cross-dimension. Contrary to the drastic oppositions between ‘Human and Other’, this project aims to explore and propose an alternative vision of a corporal and spiritual neo-human composition. Unlike the dystopian scenarios drawn from the collective imagination we aim to consider another form of interaction. An interaction not of animosity – but of fascination and coexistence between what is considered the artificial and the real Human Being.
