Help Me Relocate to New Mexico!

Hello Everyone!
My name is Deandra and I am a UNC Chapel Hill alumna who just completed a Masters in Public Health at UNC Greensboro! This year out of more than 4,400 applicants, I was one of 133 individuals selected for the PHAP Class of 2013. The Public Health Associate Program (PHAP) is a competitive, two-year, paid fellowship with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). My assignment for the duration of the fellowship is in Santa Fe, New Mexico. I will be working with the Epidemiology and Response Division of the New Mexico Department of Health. My assignment begins on July 29, 2013. Though I am a resident of North Carolina, this fellowship does not offer any financial assistance for relocation to New Mexico. For this reason, I am requesting donations to help finance the estimated cost of $4,000 to assist me in relocating.
This fellowship is a once in a lifetime opportunity to gain public health field experience under both CDC and PHAP program leadership, both of whom are extremely invested in building future leaders in public health. The CDC is the nation's premiere public health agency and the unique opportunity to work under the mentorship of its staff is invaluable. After completing the program, PHAP graduates including myself will be qualified for future jobs with government public health agencies and will be uniquely prepared to pursue advanced degrees in public health.
With your contributions, I can make a smooth transition to New Mexico and embark on the beginning of what is sure to be a long and fruitful career promoting health and preventing disease in the United States and abroad.
