A new album by Rebecca and Kamau!!

Hello family, friends, loved ones, friends of friends, strangers-soon-to-be-friends and music appreciators!!
My name is Rebecca Jade. I am a singer and lover of music and all that is creative. Most of you that know me know this about me. Well, I am back at it again and am looking for your help to fund a music project! But this one is a little different: I will be working with Grammy Award-winning arranger/producer Kamau Kenyatta, who is a well-respected musician, teacher and my mentor here in San Diego (his most recent notable project is with Gregory Porter, who won the 2014 Grammy for best jazz vocal album, Liquid Spirit). But we will be basically doing it all ourselves, no label, and we currently have no major funding from one source or sponsor, etc., which, although a little more challenging, gives us all the creative and artistic freedom we want: And that's where you come in!
Our goal is to raise $15,000. That's what we need to accomplish our goal, to produce a high-grade, radio-ready EP. The great thing about GoFundMe is that we will be able to start the process of the project as funds come in, so you will be able to see the progress of our project in a much shorter time, instead of waiting for the total amount of the funds to be raised! We plan to start recording once we've collected a couple thousand dollars, so I hope to have one or two songs that will be for the album ready for you to hear in as little as a couple months!
Your pledges will be used for recording, mixing, mastering, studio time, hiring musicians, album artwork, duplication, etc: and the $15,000 will be used specifically for creating the album, and with anything left over, to help spread the word. If folks are feeling generous and we exceed our funding amount, we will put the additional money towards promoting the album even harder, planning bigger tours, and getting it in front of as many people as possible!! :)

Kamau Kenyatta is an extraordinary musician/arranger/producer. Those of you that know who Kamau is know he is a powerhouse in the San Diego music community, and I truly believe it was meant for us to work together on an original project. I would really love to make this happen and, with your help, no matter how big or small your contribution, it can be made possible! Wouldn't you love to be a part of something that could be, just might be, amazing?? :)
