Hey everyone my name is Chris. I learned recently that What is never so important a question as Why. On that note I will start with explaining why I'm in need of your assistance. I am a C-4 Tetraplegic. I damaged my spinal cord in a diving accident when I was 16 years old. 15 years later I live independently with my dog in Sacramento and I am under scholarship with the Mouth and Foot Painting Association as a student artist. Things were going great until a few years back when I developed a pressure sore on one of my sittin cheeks. Since then my ability to sit up and be productive has slowly lessened. I now spend approximately 20 hours out of every day in bed and I fear it will inevitably worsen my condition more hastily than if I were able to be up and more active. I recently found a cushion that has been approved by the VA for Wounded Warriors coming home who are wheelchair-bound. I should mention that I am not counted among them. I have Never served in the armed forces. But the technology could benefit me. The alternating air technology in the Aquila APK2 cushion6 could increase my sitting time to upwards of 12 hours a day like it used to be. I would be able to be so much more productive and my physical and mental condition would not continue to deteriorate from the isolation and lack of exercise that comes along with prolonged bed rest.
