Amanda Moulton's Recovery
As you all know Amanda is a wonderful person. She is so caring and loving and would do anything for a friend in need. You would be lucky to have a friend like her. If anyone was ever in need and needed something, she would always be there for you. She has helped me personally many times, and I know I wouldn't have been able to do some things without her and her help.
Now, it's our turn to repay the favor.
On Friday March 10, 2017 Amanda had an accident that would change her life. Amanda was out riding a client's horse like she did many many times before, her rides always went well and always ended on a good note, but this particular ride sadly didn't go that way. Amanda was bucked off this time and landed on her hip and broke her hip, she was rushed to the emergency room.
After being checked in and waiting to be taken care of, she was taken back for x-rays, and the X-ray showed that she had definitely broken her hip. She was then immediately scheduled for surgery just a few hours later. It was told to be so severe that she was bumped ahead of the other patients needing surgery because of the worry of her blood flow. The surgery could take anywhere from 1-6 hours.
The surgery was done and went well, Amanda is now recovering in the hospital. They had told her that this is definitely not like any other normal hip brake. Amanda had broken the ball of the femur completely off and also dislocated it from the fall. The recovery for this is much longer than any other hip break or hip replacement, because of the severity of her hip. If this were a hip replacement she would have a shorter recovery and would be able to walk within a week, but this isn't the case for her, her recovery will be much longer and she will have to wait much longer to walk again. The recovery for this is 1 year.
As everyone should know Amanda loves her horses and dogs, she is a horse trainer for a living, it's her passion to ride and teach. She rides her horses daily, trains horses for people and gives lessons to young children and adults of all ages. Unfortunately, she received the heartbreaking news from doctors that because of her hip she could not ride for at least 6 months to a year, maybe not at all, it all depends.
Horses and riding is what keeps Amanda going in life, it's the one thing she has really only known all her life. But because of this news, her life has changed. How would she be able to do what she loves?
Horses and training is how she makes a living, it's where her finances come from. So, of course, like any other human being, she will have the f of how will she be able to pay for all the things she needs to pay for, how will she be able to do the things she normally does every day? It's only logical for her to ask those questions.
As one of her closest friends, I want to reach out to all of you and ask that if there is any way you could donate anything at all, whether it be money or your time to help her get going again, it would be so greatly appreciated, and it would help lift up her spirits to know that it will all be okay.
Anything you can donate, we will appreciate it beyond belief. This is a major bump in the road and she needs any and all help that she can get.
Though this will be a long recovery for Amanda, we have faith that with the help of others, we will be able to get through this.
We are going to have Faith in God and trust that he will take care of her and not let her fall. Encouraging her and telling her that He loves her and that she can do this, she can do anything, and that it will all be ok.
