RIP Mila Rose

Mila Rose was born Oct 29, 2013

She is a tiny little girl that has not yet experienced what life has to offer. She enjoys electronics; particularly her parents iPad or any phone that crosses her path, her daddy is to blame for that.  :)

She is definitely a daddy’s girl, he can’t move without her by his side. She is his little shadow or perhaps maybe he is really her shadow in which she finds confront in knowing she is safe when he is around.

She is almost 2 ½ years old and just a petite ray of sunshine.

In the beginning of March, she got sick and the doctors thought she had the flu.  About a week later she developed a lump around her eye; the doctor’s prescribed eye drops and just thought it was pink eye.  Her symptoms began to get better and then would appear worse.  Her parents LaToiya Partee Gloria and Manny Gloria not satisfied with her eye not healing and noticing that her eye movement looked different decided to take her to the emergency room.

On March 13, 2016 her parents while still in the emergency room were presented with some terrible news as a result of a CT scan.  Their baby girl/their princess had a mass just outside of her brain.  Hospital doctors and nurses told them very little, they told them their daughter needed to be transported by ambulance to Children's Medical Center in Dallas. The doctors and nurses told them that the receiving hospital was already alerted and that once they got there, the doctors and nurses could provide them with more information.

As any parent would feel, they wanted answers but they would have to wait.  After being transported and stabilized, the doctors and nurses would begin to tell the parents what additional tests needed to be performed before getting a real diagnosis.

Mila had to endure a MRI, Stem Cell and Bone Marrow testing.  It would finally come with a diagnosis.  She was diagnosed with Malignant Rhabdoid Tumor.  It is a very rare and aggressive form of Tumor.  The tumor location is inoperable, which means her course of treatment is Chemo and Radiation.  Mila has already had her port inserted and her first dose of Chemo has started. She will spend more time in the hospital than at home over the course of months, possibly a year.

Mila is not the only child.  She is the youngest of six children, with that being said that leaves the parents with a decision on how to maintain their daily life and yet be at the hospital through it all.  Unfortunately one of the parents will ultimately need to quit their job.  Right now both of them have been faced with the decision to take a leave without pay until a permanent decision is made.

What you can do to HELP?

You can help them make this difficult time a little easier by generously donating a small amount to help with any medical expenses, household expenses or any financial burdens that may arise during this stressful time.  Remember whether is $5, $10, $50, $100, it all helps and goes a long way to help ease the stress and strain this family is experiencing.

My goal for this campaign is to build a fund to offer some financial relief for them so that they can focus on healing Mila and still maintain their household with minimal disruption.

Thank you in advance for your kindness, your love, compassion and your daily prayers!
