On Thursday, November 8, the Camp Fire nearly decimated the town of Paradise California.  Eight of the nine elementary, middle, and high schools in Paradise Unified School District burned down completely.
We are focusing our fundraising efforts on Paradise Intermediate School , one of the 8 schools in the Paradise Unified School District that was completely burned in the November fire.  Sherry Swenson, an English teacher in the school, has been working diligently alongside her colleagues to continue to provide quality education to her many displaced students.  At this time, they are temporarily located in an old hardware store.  Sherry and her partner teacher are currently instructing their class in the painting aisle, using reclaimed shelving as desks.  They have no textbooks as what they previously had was destroyed, or is not being released for use by FEMA.  They have limited wifi available to access any online curriculum.  Sherry and her students need our help to gather basic supplies and books for teaching and learning.
Students leaders from State College High School are working together with the aim of providing some relief to victims of this fire.  Our goal is to raise $10,000 between January 22 and February 20.
