As everyone knows I am a librarian and have been working on and off in the library/information services field for the past four years. Needless to say, it has been difficult at times and the amount of debt I am under because of school loans, having to move countless times and just life has really weighed down on me.
Now that you know the brief sob story, here's the deal: I want to attend the American Library Association conference this year. The conference is happening in two weeks in Chicago - a place that is my second home. If I were able to go to ALA I truly believe it would be an amazing push for my career, the conference will be filled with colleagues in my field and there is even a two day job fair. I really do feel this would be a great push for my career and my future, of course I won't really know until I try.
I have no issue with getting myself to Chicago and I have even less of an issue on finding a place to stay while I am there - I just need this extra financial push.
If you are willing to help then I appreciate it, if you can't help and you are simply there for me then I also appreciate it. The only reward I can offer is that once I am employed I can pay you back with meals, drinks, random gifts, mixtapes or stories of my sometimes interesting life.
Thank you from the bottom of my farts.
