Bone Marrow Transplant

Donation protected
I am writing this letter on behalf of my employee (and right hand) Linda Archambault, and her son, Rich Archambault (who was also an employee of mine for some time). Rich was diagnosed 6 years ago with Aplastic Anemia. This is a very serious disease, which requires a Bone Marrow Transplant for any possibility of recovery. After his original diagnosis, Rich spent months in the hospital (as he had NO immune system as a result this disease) getting transfusions and medications, and eventually the disease went into remission. He has been being treated with meds ever since. He has been working, and going to College, and has gotten married. Recently, Rich had a full relapse, and was admitted back into the hospital (Florida Hospital in Orlando, Florida). After being admitted, it was discovered that not only is his Aplastic Anemia back full force, but he had also developed a blood cancer similar to Leukemia. He was put through Chemotherapy 24 hours a day for a week, and is now suffering all of the after effects of Chemo. He developed a terrible rash from the chemo, and has been on steroid therapy for that. (NO FUN...makes you feel like you don't belong in your own skin, and you sweat profusely). He has now lost his facial hair and the hair on his head. There are several possible Bone Marrow Donors, who are being looked into for his transplant, which will hopefully occur in July.
One of the biggest problems this family is having right now is money. Rich and his wife have an apartment in Tampa (where they go to school), and there have been big bills for the family to cover, as they are still waiting for Social Security Disability to approve him for Medicaid. His parents and siblings are helping him in every way possible, but their resources are limited. Even when Medicaid does kick in, there will still be big bills not covered that the family will have to deal with. Plus, the added knowledge that under the Family Medical Leave act, his job will only be held for him until August, and there is NO way he will be back to work by then, as he will have to live in a "bubble" for some time after his transplant until his body is healthy enough to be exposed to "the real world".
I am asking for your help. If there is anything you can do to give Rich and his family even the smallest bit of financial aid, it would be greatly appreciated. Pleas do not hesitate to contact myself or Linda Archambault for any more information you would like.
