Dear Friends and Family,
I'm about to embark on an adventure of a lifetime in Rio de Janeiro, where I'll be volunteering a month of my time to help elementary students learn English! I've been placed near Santa Teresa, a "favela" (slum/shantytown) of Rio. Given the great disparities in this city and especially the inadequacies of education, I am on a mission to make a difference in the lives of these children!
The program fees (not including airfare) exceed $1,000. If you're able, I'd GREATLY appreciate any small donation to help the huge cost of my program: International Volunteer HQ - partnered with Iko Poran organization in Brazil. Thank you for your support, friends!
