Team Brooklyn

Brooklyn Oliver was a healthy active beautiful little 6 year old girl that loved to play T-Ball and play with her big sister. On September 3, 2011 she had a asthma attack and got sick to her stomach and started to vomit. She vomited and aspirated on her vomit which clogged her airways then caused her to stop breathing and collapse. We started C.P.R as we rushed her to the E.R. down the street. As soon was we arrived they started C.P.R and intubated her. She coded 3 times and got her back each time. She then was lifeflighted to L.S.U trauma hospital which she stayed there for 28 days. We were told she suffered an anoxic brain injury and would never wake up or be that normal little 6 year old that we had grown to know and love. We were told to pull the breathing machine and see what God had in store for Brooklyn. We prayed and said that Brooklyn was fighting physically for her life and we would fight spiritually for her as a family. So we choose NOT to pull life support and stand in our faith. We were then transferred to Dallas to a hospital rehab called Baylor Our Childrens House. 2 days after arrival Brooklyn woke up. We stayed there for over 3 months and was released to come home just in time for Christmas. We have been traveling back and forth for surgeries and follow up visits that become very expensive for our family. Brooklyn is long from being that girl we once new but God has a special testimony for her life and is touching many lives with it today. We Walk by Faith NOT by sight. Brooklyn is improving daily because of God and the help of family and friends. Everyday is a new day for her and we are thankful for her. Thank You
