Last year disturbing news flooded out of Armenia daily as we watched the fragile peace of our homeland caving under renewed threats of Armenophobia. This hatred sparked attacks on Amenians around the world including an act of arson on one of our churches here in the Bay Area and an attack on our KZV Armenian School.

 

We formed a group of Armenian creatives in response and collectively we decided to make a film, Janapar, "the Road". The film reflects our interpretation of the Diasporan Armenian’s journey towards healing following the Artsakh War.

 

Using our varied backgrounds in film, video, painting, and costume design, we craft an intuitive and conceptual visual style that draws on Armenian motifs and naturalistic minimalism as reflected in our local landscape.

 

 

 

Up to this point, we’ve used our personal funds to promote and expense our film. However,  in order to pay our musicians fairly market our film to a broader viewership and fully realize our concept we need to raise more money. We have decided to crowd fund for a percentage of our expenses.

 

Our goal is that this project serves as a catalyst to establish an active scene of Armenian creatives in the Bay Area and connect with an audience outside our community.
