Medical Volunteering in Thailand!

Hello family and friends! I know I do not  post a ton of updates on social media, but fear not because I am doing well. As many of you know, I am attending Kansas State University working towards fulfilling a lifelong dream of going to medical school and becoming a physician. 

Along this journey I have been accepted to participate in a medical volunteer trip to Chaing Mai, Thailand this January. While there I will have the opportunity to spend half my time shadowing doctors in the city's hospital and the other half volunteering in rural areas that have few healthcare opportunities. Though both will be wonderful experiences, I am most eager about assisting people in the rural communities to receive proper medical care. Along with my participation in helping doctors I will also be able to conduct community outreach programs for the children in these villiages to pass along knowledge of universal percautions, first aid, and nutrition. 

While I am super excited for this trip I also have to focus on funds. The program cost for this volunteer trip is set to cover my lodging, transportation, food, uniforms, and the workers who will be with my group to guide us through Thailand. The rest of the program cost will go towards the volunteer coorporation to use on upkeep of the medical supplies and help in those rural communities. Any donations from family and friends will be accepted with open arms and lots of love. Funding for this volunteer trip is number one on all my wishlists being that I am college student persuing an expensive degree. However, if you are not able to help with funding that is perfectly okay as I will also accept kind thoughts and wishes of good luck throughout this experience.
