For those of you who know my dad, lucky you. You have been blessed with the automatic friendship from a loving, quirky, energetic ball of fun. As most of you know, dad has struggled with his health for a while. The last few weeks it took a serious turn for the worse. (IN A NUTSHELL) Two weeks before Christmas he had to have his toe amputated due to diabetes. While in the hospital for this, dads liver and pancreas were also noted as failing. Due to this, it has caused him to lose brain function. At this point he is in a rehabilitation center trying to undergo speech/occupational and physical therapy. He cannot walk, he cannot talk properly and he is now starting to be able to use his fine motor skills to be able to eat/drink on his own. He is confused and has frequent falls as he doesn't remember he cannot walk. In a nut shell, he needs to be supervised and needs therapy to get better. We received a phone call this evening that his insurance will only pay for two more weeks of his rehabilitation stay. However, this is not long enough for his recovery. The doctors are unsure of the time frame. I have started this page in hopes that anyone who is willing even if it is a dollar, would donate to help us keep our dads progress on track.
