I want my freedom.
Nine years ago I learned my husband was molesting our teen daughter. I stopped him, reported the crime, and he is now serving a 20 year sentence. This happened shortly after our son had drowned, as my father was fighting cancer, and after the deaths of several close friends and my own serious illness.
What followed his arrest was my daughter running away from home, the deaths of both my parents, plus the painful rejection of friends, family, and my church, all of whom I had hoped would be there for emotional support - I suspect people didn't know what else to do with their anger when the object of it, my husband, was no longer in the picture, so their collective wrath was directed at me by default.
It's taken me many years of grieving and healing to get to a place of health and wholeness. I've built a new house, saved a business, and have become involved in my community after years of rejection and isolation. In other words, I've created a new life for myself.
For the last few years I have been trying to divorce my ex, however, acting as his own lawyer, he has dragged out the process, attempting to take everything I've built from the ashes of all he destroyed, including my home and business, my source of income.
The trial has been continued to January 4, 2018, and my attorney fees, plus any potential settlement, will likely bankrupt me and I will lose everything that's left.
This man is a psychopath; he is a destroyer of lives, and he will always be that. It has taken me years to recover financially to even afford the court and attorney fees to start the divorce, but he's doing everything he can to destroy me financially and take everything.
I am a resilient, determined, competent individual and I want nothing more than my freedom from this monster to live my life unshackled and unafraid.
