<div>The New Clarence pub in the heart of Hull city centre closed its doors on Friday 30th June 2023 - our community group has successfully raised the funds to buy it and we became the owners in February 2025.

<div>Buying the pub was just the beginning though - we need to carry out a complete renovation on the building, making it accessible to all and as energy efficient as possible. The upper floors are derelict and we have developed a business plan to bring them back into use.

<div>We are a community group that has been set up to run it on a not-for-profit basis - owned by the community and run for the benefit of the community.

<div>This site is open for anyone to make a donation to help the campaign to renovate The New Clarence.
