<div>On October 7th, the Cunio family woke up to sirens as rockets from Gaza bombarded their community, Kibbutz Nir Oz. Red alerts happen often in Israel, so they thought it was business as usual, but nevertheless they immediately went to the bomb shelter in their home. As the hours progressed, they knew things were not normal and getting worse because they could hear Hamas terrorizing their neighbors house. They realized Hamas was setting the homes on fire Smoke began entering their home and bomb shelter so they could not hide any longer, even though they knew they’d face the terrorists. The last words that Sharon said to her family before being disconnected were “We’re probably not going to get out of this, We love you”

<div>Sharon and 3-year olds Emma and Yuli spent 52 days as hostages in Gaza. They were finally released on November 27th as part of the temporary ceasefire deal. Unfortunately they have been separated from David who is currently still captive.

<div>Hamas completely destroyed their home and everything inside it when they burnt it down on October 7th. The family not only has to deal with the trauma that follows being held hostage and the events that transpired on October 7th, but also needs to rebuild their entire lives from scratch. We are asking for donations to help them piece their life back together.
