<div>My niece, Haleigh, found out today, 11/27, that her precious little girl, Paisleigh, has Leukemia. She had a nose bleed that was persistent along with some bruising. They took her to the doctor where they did blood tests that determined cancer, and then airlifted them to Chapel Hill for treatment.

<div>The doctors at UNC confirmed that she does, in fact, have leukemia, but will do more tests to confirm what type it is.  Thankfully it was caught early, but is still bound to be a rocky road ahead for the whole family.  UNC will perform 3 tests on her either tomorrow or Wednesday.  She will have a spinal tap, bone marrow biopsy, and they’ll give her a dose of chemo in her spinal cord as a precaution for her little brain. Then, by Friday, they should have a treatment plan for which chemo she will be on.  The doctors are working diligently to come up with a treatment plan to get this sweet, vibrant little lady back to her fun and sassy self as quickly as possible.
