COVID-19 Personal Protective Equipment

I would first like to thank everyone for taking their time to visit my page. I am a physician in Southfield, Michigan one of the worst hit areas affected by the corona virus or COVID-19. This disease has not only changed the way we go about our daily lives but has changed the world as a whole. If it hasn’t affected you or someone you know already it will at some point due to the nature of the virus. The ease with which it is spreading is unlike anything we’ve witnessed in our lifetime. It is highly transmissible and has potentially deadly consequences. I have personally witnessed many of my fellow physicians, nurses, and close friends fall victim, many of whom remain in critical state as we speak.

I am asking for your support in raising funds for protective equipment for the staff at Ascension Providence Hospital in Southfield and Novi, Michigan.  I was inspired by many in the community who were so generous in their time, donations, and prayers.  This money will be used to purchase everything from gloves, gowns, proper masks, to anything that will ensure our staff is safe so they can continue to fight and care for patients. We are facing a critical shortage of the necessary equipment to guarantee our protection.   For this reason everyone's support and efforts are crucial to our cause.  

As I saw my fellow colleagues and friends affected by this terrible epidemic impacting our world, and as a physician, I felt I could not sit idly by and watch this unfold without doing something.  Our physicians, nurses, respiratory therapists, nurse techs, and staff are among the heroes in gravest danger.  They are on the front line in this battle and the most exposed.  Without proper protective equipment, our staff is at higher risk of contracting the virus.  They are in constant contact daily, caring for the sick and aiding in their recovery.  At times, protective gear is scarce and not always used appropriately, thus placing us in harms way. 

Without our doctors, nurses, respiratory therapists, nurse techs, and others vitally important to the care and survival of our patients we are left defenseless.  No one would send our soldiers into battle without proper protection, nor can we allow our healthcare works to fight this unprotected. 

I thank you for your time, thoughts, prayers, and donations in these uncertain times.  It is truly a humbling experience not only as a physician who is trying to care for our community, but also in asking for your support financially.  Please give with your heart and know that your donation is greatly and wholeheartedly appreciated.  Every dollar counts no matter what amount.  Know that 100% of your donation will go to Providence Hospital in Southfield and Novi.
