Hello everyone, I just want to say thank you for all the donations on and off Go Fund Me. By everyone being so gracious and giving, it has allowed me to travel to different hospitals for treatment.
As most of you know I traveled last year to Indiana University Health Hospital in Indianapolis to see if I was a candidate for a multi visceral transplant. While there for a week of grueling testing, I was completely overwhelmed and exhausted. I had to have a special test to see if the cancer had moved outside of the intestinal area.
I found out two weeks after having my special test the cancer had spread to the lymph nodes in my left clavicle area of my neck. I had the lymph nodes biopsied and it came back malignant for carcinoid. Therefore I was no longer a candidate for the transplant. I was completely devastated and felt that GOD had failed me, because the transplant would have freed my body of cancer.
What I didn't know, is that GOD was watching over me. He didn't fail me nor did he abandoned me, because if I had the transplant the cancer would have spread through my body like wild flower and 're-infect the new organs. I would have been dead in a week.
I will be taking another trip to Ochsner in Louisiana to try new therapy, in hopes that they can at least shrink the tumors and maybe now I could eat. I'm on new meds and the out of pocket cost is outrageous. I've been trying to get help to come in and sit with me for a few hours a day, but the insurance won't cover it. They told me I have to pay out of pocket for companion care, something I can not afford. They charge between $16 & $20 dollars an hour for a minimum of 4 hours, it's just something I cannot afford to pay.
