Mom's PAD Fund

My gorgeous mother has just been informed that she has been diagnosed with Peripheral Artery Disease (PAD). PAD is a common circulatory problem in which arteries reduce the blood flow in your veins. Plaque builds up in arteries that carry blood to limbs. Overtime, the plaque may crack and cause blood clots to form. These blood clots can block arteries, causing pain, numbness, inflammation, and even permanent tissue damage in the affected part of the body. If severe enough, blocked blood flow can cause tissue death. In very serious cases, this can lead to leg amputation. Doctors have informed her that she needs surgery as soon as possible. Currently, one in twenty people have PAD and left untreated, it increases the risk for a heart attack or a stroke.

My mother, Adriana is an extremely loving and hardworking individual. Unfortunately, she is one of the many Americans without health care and is not able to pay for the surgery all by herself.

I am starting this fund raiser in order to help her because she has done so much for me through my life. As any son would say, my mother is the greatest person alive, a hard working individual and self-reliant. She does not know I am doing this for her so I would like to collect the money and then film her when she receives it. That way everybody who has donated it will see her joy and know it went to a good purpose!
