<div>One of my closest friends has recently been diagnosed with breast cancer and needs our help. Steph is a much loved wife, daughter, granddaughter, sister, friend and most importantly, she is a mother to 4 beautiful kids. She received this devastating diagnosis while she was on her way to the hospital to give birth to her 4th baby on the 9th of May 2024. Beautiful Oscar was born on the 10th of May 2024 and joins his smitten older siblings Noah (5), Lucas (3) and Elsie (2).

<div>Steph is currently on maternity leave from her job where she works as a paramedic for the Queensland Ambulance Service. Steph has been a paramedic for the past 13 years, selflessly putting others needs ahead of her own. Steph’s husband Matt is an Army Veteran and now works as a wardsman in a casual capacity at the Mater Private Hospital at Redlands. Matt will now be working significantly less hours than originally planned with Steph on maternity leave in order to assist her with getting to and from appointments as well as looking after the kids and maintaining their family home. As you can imagine the financial implications from this loss of income is going to be an added stress while this beautiful family navigates this devastating diagnosis. Steph is facing a bilateral mastectomy with lymph node removal, rounds of both chemotherapy and radiation as well as hormone therapy.
