Stitches from the Heart has for many years sent baby blankets, caps and booties to over 1,400 facilities nationwide. The devastating tornado in Moore, Oklahoma affected one of our facilities. The primary help and support have now left the area and Moore is still in need of items to help rebuild their homes and facilities.
Today we are boxing up items for the area facilities that are helping out our friends and families in the area. Blankets in toddler and infants sizes, sweaters from newborn to toddler, booties and hats are now filling boxes and are ready for shipping. However, no matter how we try, shipping costs are the one item that we cannot negotiate down. On the average a box of over 100 items send UPS ground will cost the organization $17 dollars; the same box sent USPS Parcel Post is $14. Needless to say we are in a small bind and are hoping that our family and friends can help us out while helping those effected in Moore, OK.
