Michele's WHOOP~ASS CANCER CAMPAIGN

Donation protected

Our beautiful, fun-loving Michele is in need of our help. For those of you that grew up with her or have become friends with her over the years, know of her huge heart and contagious personality. She doesn't even think twice to step up when she see's a friend or stranger in need. Last week on December 16th, Michele was diagnosed with STAGE IV (4) Breast Cancer which has Metastasized into her Bones. Her doctor ordered Radiation & a medication that takes the place of chemotherapy. Yesterday, (December 21st) Michele received a call from her Doctor's Office informing her that her Chemotherapy medication alone would cost over $2,800 per month OUT-OF-POCKET (CO-PAY). Michele's only source of income is from Social Security in the amount of a little over $1,400 per month. You don't have to be good at math or crunch any numbers to know the funds just aren't there for her to afford to buy this LIFE-SAVING medication. TIMELINE: Michele was first diagnosed with breast cancer in March, 2013. After jumping through all of the Radiation & Chemotherapy Hoops she went into Full Remission. Her doctor continued to follow her every three months ordering blood work to monitor her Cancer Markers. If Cancer wasn't enough, Michele underwent a total hip replacement in April, 2015 forcing her to take an early retirement, after working for 31 years in the Automotive Accounting Industry. In June, 2016 Michele had her 3 month routine blood work done & since her Cancer Markers were within normal limits, her doctor ordered her future follow-up on her blood work changed from 3 months to 6 months. Michele had her Cancer Marker blood work done last week & her results were OFF THE CHART (Extremely high)!!! Her doctor immediately ordered a PET SCAN & a Full-body Bone Scan, the results of which showed that the Cancer had metastasized into both hips & into her Mid & Low Back. Michele's doctor then ordered Radiation as well as ordering a New medication that takes the place of traditional Chemotherapy. The medication has shown some promising results in other patient's without the adverse side-effects that are usually seen with traditional Chemotherapy such as, hair loss, sores in the mouth & severe reduction in the patient's White blood cell count. Michele experienced all of these in 2013 when she was first diagnosed with Breast Cancer. The traditional Chemotherapy caused Michele's white blood cell count to fall so low that she required a blood transfusion. Later this afternoon, we will be traveling to Michele's first of 21 Radiation treatments. She amazes me in so many ways. With everything she is dealing with, including all of the pain she is enduring, SHE NEVER COMPLAINS of it or anything else. She is TOUGH AS NAILS!!! I want to thank all of you that have taken the time to read my long post. I felt it important to provide as much information as we had available this early in Michele's FIGHT. Michele's doctor wants her to get started on the medication immediately. Even the smallest of donation would be greatly appreciated. For those that can't afford to donate, NO WORRIES!!! I know Michele would just appreciate that you keep her in your thoughts and prayers.
