Help me finish my book this summer!
If you know me at all, you know that I work my ass off. I've just spent the last few months teaching five college writing classes at once, and my eyeballs feel like orbs of molten coal and I want to nap! But instead, I am taking a big leap by taking off work for the summer to finish my book: a memoir about my brother's murder, falling in love, coming of age in the wake of loss, coming out as a queer artist, and being a young punk in the thick of the AIDS crisis. I am 270 pages into this manuscript, and I need to power through the last 100 pages this summer. This project is extremely difficult to pick up for an hour before work or in the evenings. I've done best with contained and focused writing time where I can solely inhabit the world of this story.
