Hi,

This is my mum Donna, she’s my rock and my best friend.

She’s currently homeless.

Let down by the system and left without anywhere to live since 18th August 2024. With no new home on the horizon and wall after wall of problems dealing with the councils.

My Mum is the kindest, strongest and most loving person you would ever meet. Her personality is contagious and everyone who meets her would tell you the same. She would do anything for anyone. Even now when she has been left with nothing she will always try and help others.

She was left to live in a van on the coast until the middle of winter and then was first placed in a completely unsuitable hotel which had no lock on her door and no safety at all. 

She is now in a better temporary accommodation but this is no way for her to live, with serious struggling with both physical and mental health this is really starting to take its toll and she needs a home to call her own. We are coming up to a year now and she is still being let down. 

My mum is disabled with 1 leg and unable to work for multiple reasons, she has been calling everyone she can to try and get some help with doors just being slammed in her face all over.

I am asking for help to raise some money to help my mum get a deposit for a new home. Just a rental not to buy but just a place she can call her own, a place she can feel safe and secure and a place for her to be warm.

I would have mum with me but I live in Norfolk and I also live in a property that isn’t my own and is rented and is also not suitable for her needs and miles away from the rest of our family that she needs to be close to. We have even tried to get her on the council up here but I haven’t been in the area long enough for them to allow this unfortunately.

I am asking for any small bit of help, anything you can donate to help get my mum off the streets.

Mum is still having to pay storage for her belongings each month and is only able to afford food now via food banks as the majority. She is still fighting for her PIP assessment to be completed and this is also affected her incoming money as this is another thing she is having to fight.

If you know any property owners on the East Sussex coast local to Peacehaven or in the Horsham and surrounding areas who have a 1-2 bedroom bungalow they would be happy to rent to her and her small therapy dog who is perfectly behaved please get in contact and tell them my mums story.

funds will help towards a housing deposit and even for now the cost of her storage and food.
