Mary Ann's Mission is dedicated to helping a Mary Ann Rago, a woman who has touched so many lives through her kindness, positive energy, and thoughtful ways, get back on her feet and live her life to the fullest!
Mary Ann is a mother, grandmother, sister, and friend to everyone she encounters. She has faced some life changing events within the last five years. Now, Mary Ann's family and friends have rallied around her to try to give back for all she has given to us.
In August 2009, Mary Ann lost her high school sweetheart and husband of 32 years to a sudden heart attack. Frank Rago was the love of her life. A large loss was felt for Mary Ann, their daughters, and the lives of all that loved him. In May 2011, while still grieving Frank's loss, Mary Ann developed breast cancer. But in true Mary Ann fashion, she pushed the surgery, radiation and chemotherapy with a smile! She continued to work at the veterinary clinic while undergoing treatments. Mary Ann loves her job working with animals and the people she encounters every day! Since Mary Ann was living on her own, it was not only a financial necessity to continue working, but also gave her purpose throughout her days. Through lots of love and prayers, the treatments worked for a short time and the cancer was in remission.
This past June 2013, Mary Ann found out that her cancer returned and traveled to her spine. She has undergone radiation on her vertebrae and hopefully, it is gone for good! However, the second time has presented more physical challenges on her body and the pain makes it difficult for Mary Ann to work and maintain her active lifestyle.
She would like to be able to play more with her 2-year old granddaughter, Elina ,but it has been difficult to move some days. Mary Ann worries about her medical expenses and household bills piling up when she can not work. So, Mary Ann's family and friends have decided to show her how much we love her and want her to focus on getting healthy, and not stress about finances!

Like all illness, we were challenged to look at life differently and to truly appreciate our time here and enjoy it with the people we love. We want Mary Ann to feel the love she has given to so many people!
