Support Denelle and Jayson for Kua's Medical Bills

Hi! I'm Denelle. Kua has been my canine companion for over a decade now, and everyone who knows me knows how much I love the little guy and how he is my entire world. He's also stolen the heart of my partner, Jayson, who as also grown to love him so much in such a short amount of time.

A couple of weeks ago, we noticed that he had a slight limp which was pretty common for him as he likes to jump a lot. I didn't think much of it at the time and figured that it would get better as the days passed by, but unfortunately, it did not.

I brought him to Tama Veterinary Hospital Urgent Care yesterday, 6/19/2024, where Dr. Tama and his team took fantastic care of Kua. He ended up needing to undergo Luxating Patella Surgery (LPS), which is a procedure to correct kneecaps that have moved out of place, for both of his rear knees. His surgery went very well and he is now recovering here with us at home.

With such high quality care comes a high quality price; Kua's original appointment along with x-rays, blood tests, and medications totaled $2,192.27. The surgery along with additional medications and care came out to be $6,386.13, which Jay and I had to pay out-of-pocket. Kua has also been scheduled for follow-up and x-ray appointments every two weeks during the duration of his recovery which will be an additional cost. We estimate that each appointment will be at least $610.00, or $305.00 per knee. Altogether, the total cost comes out to approximately $11,018.40.
