Brian's Bladder Cancer Fund

Donation protected
My Brother Brian was diagnosed with Bladder Cancer in 2013. He went to his primary care physician for lower back pain and saw a nurse practitioner who ordered the wrong diagnostic test . The results of that test showed that there was a tumor in his bladder and he was referred to a urologist. Needless to say we were very grateful that it was found because he had no standard bladder problem symptoms. The tumor was removed and tested. Thankfully the biopsy came back that the tumor was Low Grade (Non- aggressive) and non-invasive Cancer.

For the past 4 years he has had follow up Cystoscopies in which nothing was found. On Oct. 24th he had a routine Cystoscopy and unfortunately a Tumor was found. He had the procedure to have it removed Oct. 30th. It was tested the but the results came back with devastating news that the cancer is now High Grade (Aggressive) and still non-invasive. Due to the diagnosis he will now need treatments to help lower the risk of recurrence and or kill any cancer cells that are still in his bladder. After meeting with a Urological Oncologist in Rochester he and his doctor in Elmira have come up with a treatment plan. He will start the treatment plan the week of Thanksgiving and continue for 6 weeks after that. At the end of the 6 weeks worth of treatment he will have another cystoscopy to see if the treatment is working. If the treatment is working then he will have maintenance treatments in increments of three treatments over a 6 month period for the next two to three years or as tolerated by Brian’s body.

Brian and Mallory have been on an emotional roller coaster these past few weeks. Overwhelming joy with the birth of their daughter Delaney born on November 11th, a beautiful little sister to their precious son Maddox who is 20 months old. To Overwhelming sadness and concern over the diagnosis he received and how it will effect their family.

Having the treatments & recovery needed after will require Brian to miss work. With Mallory just having the baby she is also out on maternity leave. They will be facing financial difficulties in the future between missed work and medical bills.
I wanted to share what they are going through in the hope of easing the financial burden on their family. Whatever you can do will be deeply appreciated.
