I have been dealing with serious bio-mechanical structural issues for more than FOUR YEARS now that are the result of not having a bite, and are LIFE-THREATENING if not corrected. Born with partial anadontia (missing teeth), having baby teeth prematurely extracted, and having metal fillings that wore down my molars, I have been struggling with bulged discs, motor impairment, EXTREME structural and hand weakness, subluxation, an ataxic gait, neck, back and knee pain, instability, low bone density, headaches, a distressed nervous system, poor circulation, fatigue, limited neck and spinal mobility and occasional twitching in my extremeties. An MRI ruled out MS, but a 3-D scan of my skull and jaw showed dysfunction that, if not corrected with a FULL, permanent restoration, would almost certainly progress into Parkinson's disease by my mid-thirties. "If your jaw joint is off [which is most often caused by a malocclusion "bad bite" or lack of a bite], you can KISS the rest of your BODY GOODBYE." - Dr. Harold Gelb. What I am learning is that your jaw alignment is determined by the surface of your teeth, the full Roman arch of a bite which is meant to support your curve-shaped skull, opposing forces meeting, stabilizing and supporting the cranial bones so that they move IN CONCERT, lifting the weight of your head atop your spine, enabling spinal tensegrity and strength; a HUGE SHOCK-ABSORBER, your bite absorbs the shock of every step, balancing the forces of movement through the body, anchoring the ribs to allow LUNG EXPANSION, enabling the function of the trigemenal nerve for sensory input, proprioception and coordination, not to mention, enabling you to EAT. We close our jaws an average of 3,000 a DAY - IMAGINE what kind of structural problems can arise if there is something wrong at that point of impact, or if there is no meeting point at all? On top of that, missing teeth adds more pressure to the teeth that are taking the impact, which can threaten their health - all reasons why I am so desperate to correct the situation, save my life, and need YOUR HELP to do that.
I am so grateful to have benefitted from the MORA (mandibular orthotic repositioning appliance) and the wonderful treatment of Dr. Risto Hurme, which did give me SOME restored strength and function. I have reached a point where I URGENTLY need some critical components found in a new approach. I am starting treatment in gneuromuscular denstistry (gnathology + neuromuscular) with Dr. Gregg Ueckert. I believe 100% that ALL of my above-mentioned symptoms will be IMPROVED and REVERSED, if not completely RESOLVED with the eventual permanent, biomimetic restoration of my bite. It's going to be a process over the next two years and it will be expensive, requiring gneuromuscular treatment to establish a bite, orthodontics, bilateral bone grafts, six implants, and the final bio-mimetic restoration. Just to make me functional to work NOW, I need intense soft-tissue therapy/clinical bodywork, chiropractic therapy, regenerative medicine to restore connective tissue, special nutritional support to aid in rebuilding tissue, muscle and bone, protect the teeth I have, and make up for what I can't chew in my diet. As I regain my health, I will be able to work more and support myself. I am grateful to have health insurance, but at the moment they don't consider dental needs to be medical needs, so I am on my own, with $30K of debt, student loans and finances in shambles due to the persistent symptoms of a malocclusion. I am determined to work myself out of the red, but I desperately need your help. I have already received EXTRAORDINARY BLESSINGS, and am gifted to have so many wonderful people in my life - so grateful for all of you! My greatest hope is that I can completely resolve my own health challenges and devote my life to serving others and sharing what helps me so that I can help everyone live the highest quality of life!!!!
