Dear Friends,

My name is Emily. Some of you may know me, some of you not. I'm a Big Foot HS student in Walworth, Wisconsin. My favorite classes are History, English and Photography. Last year I was recognized as the most Outstanding Freshmen Girl by the American Legion Auxiliary. My GPA score is 4.0. I'm a member of FCCLA , the Art Club, and I was chosen to be a Freshmen Mentor Program Leader for 2013-2014.
I applied to be a volunteer in Spain to teach English to Spaniards and I feel very fortunate to be selected in this program. I'm very excited about the opportunity to volunteer abroad and multicultural experience that lies ahead in Spain. I'm sure that memories built in the fabulous land of Don Quixote I will never forget.
My trip will last 2 weeks between July 12th-28th. Everything will be paid for except the cost of airfare to Madrid and the Welcome and Departure packs. I have already begun planning, researching and saving but even though it's hard to ask, I also need your help. I am looking to meet a fundraising goal of $2000. I will welcome a gift of any amount.
With your support I will be able to meet Spaniards from all parts of the country and find out about their lives, their cuisine and their culture. I will also meet a wide variety of English speaking volunteers traveling from all the corners of the world. I'm sure I will forge friendships for life.
I will earn volunteer credits and be awarded 100 hours for my participation. I will also receive an award certificate which I will be able to use for my school record of achievement. And all of that can happen only with your help.
