For just a moment, stop, take a deep breath, and think about the miracles in your life. What first comes to mind are often our children. I want to share with you the miracle of the Hart family.
In TJ’s words…
Having Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS) made conception difficult but in April we finally got a positive pregnancy test!
In week 21 of the pregnancy, I experienced some complications. I was in Michigan for work and drove to the nearest hospital. After an hour-long drive, the doctors shared that my amniotic sac was coming down. I needed surgery to protect the pregnancy, however, there was a only 50/50 chance that surgery would work. My husband, trying to comfort me over the phone, encouraged me to have the surgery immediately to give our baby a fighting chance.
The surgeon walked over to me after the surgery and said, "That was a miracle. We started to give up because it wasn't working but for some reason we kept going and it worked. It was a miracle."
My husband arrived to drive me back home to Cleveland after being discharged. The next day, the complications reoccurred. The amniotic sac was coming down through the sutures. I was hospitalized on bed rest for 3 weeks & given steroids to help the baby mature in case he was born prematurely.
On 09/11/17, at 24 weeks, the ultrasound showed that the amniotic sac went back up & my cervix closed but hours later, contractions rolled in. Upon examination, the doctor shouted, "There's the head!" I was quickly moved to Labor and Delivery. At 1:41 am on my birthday, 09/12/17, Jacob Jonathan Hart was born at 24 weeks and 1 day, 1 lb. 8 oz. Our little warrior was born with his eyes open, heart beating, & lungs working. Now that's a miracle!
He's in the NICU progressing beautifully! He's very active & growing stronger everyday! He's more than what we could've imagined. He enjoys kangaroo care with mom & dad and he loves his pacifier.
We have so many reasons to be thankful for. Baby Jacob Jonathan is a true miracle.
Baby Jacob is a miracle and it is wonderful news every time I hear of his growth (he is over 2 pounds now!).
TJ will be back at work tomorrow, October 30th. I let TJ know that I wanted to set up this account for all who are asking about Baby Jacob and she and her husband are beyond thankful. Under other circumstances, we might be sending along blankets and teddy bears and cute outfits, but what the Harts really need is some help with additional expenses of having their baby so early. Thank you!
