Kobe Saved; ShinBi in Rehab and Recovery

We began our campaign in mid-January. In less than 48 hours, collie lovers reached the goal of $1500 and in less than 3 days we had $2000. Kobe's foster family decided to keep him.
We asked our donors and they told us to go ahead and use the funds for another collie and almost immediately we received notice about ShinBi. ShinBi is a 4-5 year old mahogany sable and white collie who was found wandering the streets. After our Korean team pulled him from the shelter, he was shaved due to a tick infestation. You can really see just how emaciated ShinBi is.
ShinBi arrived in Los Angeles on 20 February 2014 (Thursday). You can see a video of his arrival. He's thin and his recovery will require veterinary monitoring.
We've already paid for his medical care to prepare him for his journey and for his trip over from Seoul, South Korea via Asiana Airlines. Now we need to look forward to his medical care his condition will require veterinary monitoring.

A collie lover in South Korea, pulled Kobe from a dog meat market in Korea. This two-year-old collie is temporarily in foster care, but Southland Collie Rescue is looking to bring him to Los Angeles so that he can be cared for and found a good home.
Kobe was being sold at the Moran Meat Market in South Korea. He was there with his mother and sister. Unfortunately, his mother and sister were sold as meat.
Because Kobe was held in a small cage and given little exercise and probably food that was only filling and not particularly nutritious, he is thin and some of his muscles have atrophied. He was found standing in a three-inch thick stew of feces and urine. He was being fed the feet and innards of less fortunate dogs.
Sue Baldwin is the point person at Southland Collie Rescue. Her contact in South Korea is currently out of the country but will be back around the 20 January 2014. Whiile Sue and her South Korean contact have been looking for someone traveling after that time to bring Kobe to Los Angeles as part of their baggage, we'd like to raise enough money for a professional all-inclusive service to get all the necessary paperwork in order and transport Kobe to LAX and safety. We estimate this will cost about $1500. Altering Kobe and health care may require more. We aren't sure at this point.
We don't want to comment on another country's traditional practice of eating specific domestic animals. However, Kobe has already been pulled from the meat market by a kind Samaritan. We want to help that Samaritan get Kobe to Sue Baldwin and Southland Collie Rescue.
Any additional funds raised will go to help other collies under Southland Collie Rescue's care.
