Thank you so much for your support!

Welcome to a first of it's kind, Syracuse University's School of Visual and Performing Arts Design School's Large Size Fit, Pattern and Design Initiative!

Why is this so important?
Women size 12 and above (representing over 62 million women) are not able to find clothes that fit well, have proper proportions and clothes designed to address the varied lives they lead. This customer is not a one-shape-applies-to-all woman. She is as diverse (in size, age, taste level, and socioeconomic back ground) as her smaller sisters however, the market has not been able to either understand or apply this seemingly simple concept and continue to design and produce boxy clothing for her. The customer is angry and frustrated. But this is not necessary.

I felt in order to get to the root of this issue, I needed to begin with a designer's education - in design schools. So, as a proud graduate of Syracuse University's School of Visual and Performing Arts, our Design School seemed like the right place to start!

It's my goal to revolutionize how classic design schools teach the exclusivity of fashion, to be more inclusive. To address the nuances of a fuller woman's form, the garment's drape, fabrications that work well and complementary designs to fit her lifestyle.

Bottom line: to open lines of communication between student designers and design schools to include women who want desperately to buy into fashion, but find it hard. By doing so, graduates will be better strengthened by their diverse design education received and will be better prepared to include the large size customer in their fashion conversations, designs and decisions, out of school.

Benefits of working with a Supermodel:
After the Goddess Designer of the Year is chosen (dress made on the custom size 16 form as opposed to a size 6 form), winner will have the opportunity to dress me or another top full figured model of their choice in the fashion industry to wear their creation on the red carpet, at a magazine shoot, or both.

This will certainly help the portfolio of a new designer starting out. Having a published piece is a plume in their cap. Additionally by opening designers minds to all women's forms, students land into a larger job pool with greater opportunities for employment in an ever changing and expanding fashion industry.

The funds raised will cover:
-Creation of 12 customized fully loaded Wolf neck to toe and full figured dress forms (made to my size 16 measurements to ensure a proper fit.
-Insured shipment of those forms to Syracuse University,
-A year's fabric allowance,
-Goddess Designer of the Year is presented the EMME Goddess Award along with $500.00 dollars.**
-Two visits to Syracuse University between 2013 and 2014 to SU's Visual and Performing Arts Design School to co-create a curriculum with key design professors that embodies ALL women's bodies in the design, pattern and fit development stages of a garment, and offer in class lectures and meetings with design students.

Risks and challenges
Press turn out on red carpet: "¨
After the Goddess Dress Designer of the Year selection is made, despite my leading press to winner's Twitter, Facebook and Pinterest accounts to ramp up exposure for the designer and
"¨my publicist's extra efforts to kindly arrange to have press shoot me in the dress at a red carpeted event, there is no guarantee credit will be given to design student for pictures taken. It may be linked or not. The press do what they feel is right and cover who they feel should be covered, and are covering many events in one night so you hope they remember what you ask of them.

If the designer's creation does get printed, published, or uploaded online, this is a wonderful opportunity for their portfolio. Regardless, we will do our best to create a buzz prior to event to peek their interest!

Successful 12 Fit Forms On-Time Delivery: "¨
Making sure the shipment of the 12 fit forms from Wolf Form, Englewood, NJ to Syracuse, NY needs to happen swiftly, prior to start of the 2014 school year in the first week of Sept 2013. If the customization of the Wolf Forms take longer than anticipated, Ill communicate directly with my Wolf Form team and make it happen. However, I do not anticipate a delay since I feel I'm in good hands with the team at Wolf Form!!

This is how the forms will look like when they get wrapped, boxed and shipped!

**The Goddess Designer of the Year commemorates the winner's superior size 16 innovative design, detail to construction, appropriate fabrication selection, comfortable fit, and passion behind making full figured women feel beautiful, confident and comfortable in the clothes they create. The EMME Goddess Award, will be created by artist, Hawaiian glass blower, Stephen Fellerman once the initiative is funded and will be awarded along with the current cash prize of a $500.00 dollars. The EMME Goddess Award is a beautiful, clear etched glass blown sculpture of Venus placed on a clear plexiglass platform.

Thank you again for your generous support, every dollar, donation and "share" you create within your social circle is very important.

Together we'll create a much needed change in fashion to help generations of women feel special, unique and celebrated in the clothes designers create, beginning with Syracuse University's School of Visual Performing Arts Design School.

No donation is too big or too small, every single one counts!

Thank you!

Emme

In the news: Cornell University's apparel design sophomores Brandon Wen and Laura Zwanziger have created a plus-size mannequin on which to design, along with a collection of clothes they call Rubens' Women. I hope this project will not only continue to be a positive change with in Cornell's design school but with businesses they influence at retail!
