3,000 miles for Lupus

Well, I have decided to walk the Pacific Crest Trail this year, 2018. If you're not familiar with the PCT, it is a 2,650 mile trail from the border of Mexico, to the border of Canada. It stretches across the desert in southern California, through the Sierra Nevada and Cascade mountain ranges. Not to mention, at the end, or close to the end (hopefully), I will be running two 200+mile ultra marathons. The Bigfoot 200 (August 10th-14th) and The Tahoe 200 (September 7th-11th). Now this is two of the three of these 200 mile races that exist, the third being the Moab 240 (yes there are 40 bonus miles). I was looking for a little more encouragement to get me to finish and/crush these events. So, I've decided to try and raise some money in the process for a cause. Coming up on two years ago I lost a beloved friend, Rebecca Strothers, who suffered from lupus. It would leave her in excruciating pain and make her unable to live the life that she so deserved and was meant to live. She had loved hiking as well, but was unable to do it much due to her condition. I figure with my spirit quest and suffer fest I could use a little reminder when I want to give up, that that is just not an option. So there are two things that you will be donating to: 1: If the goal is met, I will donate all to Lupus Research Alliance AND sign up for the Moab 240 and complete the Triple Crown of 200's. 2: If goal is not met, all proceeds go to Lupus Research Alliance and I will just compete in the two I have signed up for. I will be documenting my journey through some social media outlet and creating a blog to document the cross training and to just check in to show I'm alive and share awesome pictures.
