What Does It Mean When You Receive a Festival Submission Request?
It is a great honor when a festival requests your film for submission. It means that they are greatly interested in screening your film at their festival and that they would like to review it to make sure it fits their festival's parameters. With a request usually comes a discount which reduces the cost of submission.
Within a single week, the Forlorning short film received invites from close to 150+ film festivals worldwide. Over the course of the next two weeks that number grew to around 300 festivals! Myself and the Forlorning production team were overwhelmed with the news and excited to share this deeply important narrative about isolation and suicide.
However, there are submission fees that must be observed in order for the film to continue through the selection process, ($8.5k to Festival Submissions), as well as funds needed to support a proper marketing campaign to fuel the film's festival cycle ($1.5k to Marketing - Facebook ads, posters, etc). We are asking you for your help in making this amazing opportunity a reality. Please lend us your support!
