3 peaks of Abergavenny in memory of Olivier

Llanyrafon Primary School staff are climbing the Three Peaks of Abergavenny on 1st October 2022 in memory of our pupil Olivier Roberts who sadly passed away in March this year, following a short battle with an aggressive and incurable brain tumour known as DIPG. As a team, we wish to raise as much money as possible for a charity named Abbie’s Army, who help to fund research into this cruel disease so that other children do not have to suffer the way Olivier did. Some of Olivier’s family will be joining the staff on this challenge. Olivier was a much-loved member of our school. We will remember his beautiful smile, gentle and kind personality, and special friendships with love. He will always be part of our Llanyrafon family. 

 Do you want to join us in making a difference? Every donation we receive will be paid directly to Abbie’s Army to support the work they are doing. More information about Abbies Army: Each year, 450 children are diagnosed with brain cancer. Among these is a tumour so DEADLY that there is NO effective treatment or cure. DIPG, or Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma, is responsible for 80% of all brain tumour death in UK children. Every 9 DAYS, a UK family receives this diagnosis for their child. Abbie’s Army fund medical research to give hope to future DIPG families.
